  I've been eating at J&M since high school.  20 years...
  
  First off, it isn't great.  It is good enough though.  The beef and bean pint is a good choice with the spicy sauce.  I'm not impressed with the brisket but I wouldn't eat brisket at a restaurant in Lubbock expecting anything.  The ribs have always been decent enough.  I could literally live off of the beef and bean pints though.

  This was my third visit to this location in the last year and will probably be my last. The first 2 time there the food was decent and the service was fast and friendly. This time however the 2 "large"sandwich combos(1 chopped brisket and 1 sliced brisket) that I ordered were both subpar in quality even for this place and the "large" sliced  brisket sandwich sandwich had only 4 small little slices of brisket, 3 of which where over half fat. So my sandwich was about 1/3 fat not meat. The sides with the combos were potato salad, which was pretty good, however there were no utensils given to eat the potato salad with and also no napkins ( which are a necessity when eating bbq)
  I am giving two star based on all my visits here, if I were to give it a rating based on this visit alone it would be only one star!!!

  Allow me first begin by saying that although I missed the call (s) when the driver arrived at my apartment (and I can take responsibility for that),...I just didn't hear the phone. But with that being said my food still should not have arrived as cold and dry as it did. I mean the establishment took no culpability and pretty much blamed me for the food arriving cold. I ordered the chicken breast which was not only cold but very, very dry and unseasoned, the french fries were cold and wet. For the amount of money that I paid it should not have arrived in that condition especially when it took the driver less than 5 minutes to turn around and return. Needless to say, this was my last order with and as a matter of fact had I realized the condition of the food I NEVER would've tipped that driver. J&M should invest in warming bags in the future to avoid cases like this. Btw, the chicken is inedible.

  Dried and tuff brisket. Pre-ordered $115 worth to sit in a warmer and dry out all day. No way to replace or fix the situation. Brought it back, sure it's back in the warmer to serve to someone else and headed to Rudy's down the street.

  These guys catered my best friend's wedding yesterday. I had never eaten their food before. Everything was incredibly delicious and the servers were friendly.
